Morasha Jewish Day School is accredited by the California Association of Independent Schools (CAIS), a non-profit organization of 185 elementary, middle and secondary schools in California. The association serves and strengthens its schools by setting standards of academic quality and ethical conduct, and by providing for the professional growth of faculty, administrators and trustees.
What Does It Mean To Be Accredited By CAIS?
School accreditation is a continual process that fosters excellence in education and encourages improvement through self-study and evaluation. Accreditation enables member schools to develop clearly defined goals and objectives.
To be a full member of CAIS, schools must have received accreditation by the Association. The accreditation process includes a written self-study based on 111 standards and responses to questions about every aspect of the school. This report is followed by an on-site visit by a team of educators who look into every aspect of the school's programs and operations to assess their effectiveness in fulfilling the school's stated purposes.
Although schools are accredited for a maximum period of six years, they must complete an interim review mid-way between accreditation visits. The interim report addresses the school's progress in responding to the major recommendations of the visiting committee.
