GRADE 2 WIMPEL CEREMONY
On Tuesday, May 26th, the second grade students of Morasha led the Rosh Chodesh service for the entire school. The second grade practiced weekly for 3 months in preparation for this service. We are so proud of their accomplishments. Not only did they lead the service, they had individual readings for the new month. At the end of the service they spoke about their life - time lines; what they are most proud of, what they are looking forward to in their lives, and how they will make Judaism a part of their future. Each child was then, presented with a beautifully decorated wimpel made by their parents. The ceremony was very touching and great way to see how Judaism plays such an important role in our students' lives.
GRADE 1 SIDDUR CEREMONY
On Monday, the first graders of Morasha led tefillah for the first time. Over the past five months, this class practiced every week to learn their prayers. With the help of Miss Twigg and Mrs. Hoffman, they were able to lead services beautifully. During their studies, each student chose one prayer they liked the most. During tefillah, they each presented a short explanation of the prayer and why they liked it. Not only did the students work very hard for the Siddur Ceremony, so did their parents. Each student was given a beautifully decorated cover for their siddur from their parents as a symbol of their accomplishments and success for the future. It was an incredibly moving ceremony. We are very proud of our first graders here at Morasha. Well Done!!

More photos of both these wonderful ceremonies will be posted to the web early next week.

"Woo-hoo!" The fans cheered wildly as the Morasha Stars made their third goal! Yes, the rumors are true: our very own Morasha Stars made three goals on just one game! We are so proud of you, Stars. This game, which I am sad to say is our last, took place on Tuesday, May 23, 2009. We had a bunch of excited fans who got to watch as we scored our very first goals- three of them! And although the scoring occurred mostly during the second half, throughout the entire game, we played our best, blocked shots, and got in some great footwork. After the game, the team celebrated with an awesome pizza party at Wise Guys Pizzeria. We ate, we drank- lemonade and water, that is. And the pizza was great. Our Stars have played hard for an entire season, playing countless games with not much time for practice. Still, we managed to get in a little of everything. And it didn't matter if it was a practice or a game, because EVERY STAR PLAYED THEIR BEST, ALL THE TIME.
WAY TO SHINE STARS!
Please be sure to join us on Friday at 2:30 Kabbalat Shabbat for our trophey presentation. | |
